Asthma Australia ACT, in collaboration with the Asthma Support Network will be hosting a one day Asthma Update for Nurses on Tuesday 26th June 2018.
This one day workshop is designed for nurses working with people who have asthma and their families/carers. The workshop will update participants with the information and skills needed to undertake asthma education and work with patients to become better managers of their condition.

Topics
Topics can vary depending on the needs of the group but will focus around:
· What is asthma?
· Asthma meds, delivery devices and technique
· Asthma and linked conditions including allergic rhinitis
· Providing education and support to patients and community referrals
Workshop DeliveryThe workshop is delivered face-to-face utilising a variety of interactive teaching/learning strategies and resource materials focusing on how to provide patient-centred education and support. The workshop is not designed for participants seeking conference-style in-depth medical and scientific information.
Workshop Assessment and EvaluationParticipants in the workshop will be asked to complete a series of questionnaires to assess confidence and current delivery of asthma education. Questionnaires will be administered prior to the workshop, after the workshop, and at 6 months post workshop. Additionally, participants will be asked to complete a workshop feedback form at the end of the workshop.
Issue of Record of Attendance
Participants will receive a record of attendance after all workshop sessions are finalised.
