Capital Health Network Ltd is conducting an election and appointment for the following Board Director positions.

Elected Director position B2

Nominees for Director position B2 must meet the following essential criteria:

  • 1. Primary health care clinician skills (Note: nominations must be accompanied by appropriate supporting evidence that the nominee for election possesses the necessary qualifications, registrations and/or competencies to occupy this Director position)
  • 2. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the Board’s strategic thinking
  • 3. Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership on the Board
  • 4. Appropriate governance qualifications (for example, completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors training or equivalent).

Nominees for Director position B2 may have the following desirable qualification/skill:

  • 5. Links with an academic institution.

Elected Director positions B3

Nominees for Director position B3 must meet the following essential criteria:

  • 1. Identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander or have demonstrated experience in, or an understanding of, primary health care or the broader health care system
  • 2. Demonstrated ability to contribute to the Board’s strategic thinking
  • 3. Demonstrated ability to provide strong leadership on the Board
  • 4. Appropriate governance qualifications (for example, completion of the Australian Institute of Company Directors training or equivalent).

Appointed Director position B1

Based on the Board’s skills matrix post the election result, the Board may at its discretion choose to appoint a further Director from inside or outside the range of applications received.

In accordance with the Capital Health Network Ltd Constitution, nominations are invited for the above offices. Further information about the role of Capital Health Network can be found on our website at https://www.chnact.org.au/.

NOMINATIONS, which must be in writing and comply with the rules of the organisation, may be made at any time from the issue of this notice and must reach the office, email address or postal address of the Returning Officer listed below not later than 5:00pm on Thursday 1 August 2019. Nominations received after this time and date will not be accepted.

ELIGIBILITY – Nominees need not be a Member or employee of, or otherwise associated with a Member. The CHN Board has a preference for local candidates.

NOMINATION FORM: Candidates must submit a completed and signed Nomination Form to be accompanied by the following documents:

  • Statement addressing the position requirements (500-word maximum) for circulation with the ballot paper to members eligible to vote
  • Current CV (5-page maximum)
  • Candidate Statement (250 word maximum) for circulation with the ballot paper to members eligible to vote
  • Signed Consent to Act as a Director form

Only nominations which comply with the organisation’s rules and which reach the office, email address or postal address of the Returning Officer as listed below and not later than 5:00pm on Thursday 1 August 2019 will be valid.

INTERVIEW: The CHN Nominations Committee will review nominations, interview nominees during the 2nd half of August 2019 and provide endorsement for selected nominees with the Ballot Papers to members.

BALLOT: Voting material will be posted by no later than 19 September 2019 to eligible voters at the address shown in the Capital Health Network Ltd records. The result of the ballot will be declared on Friday 18 October 2019, by a notice on the Capital Health Network Ltd website.
