Dedicated after hours services

Nurse Led Walk-in Centres provide free health care for non-life threatening injuries and illnesses for people over one year of age.  

Nurse Practitioner and Advanced Practice Nurse assessment and treatment of: 

  • common colds and influenza (patients should have a COVID-19 RAT test first) 
  • conjunctivitis 
  • cuts, abrasions, bruises, burns 
  • sinusitis, tonsillitis, middle and outer ear infections 
  • ear wax removal for adults 
  • emergency contraception 
  • school sores 
  • simple gastroenteritis 
  • skin conditions 
  • sick certificates 
  • simple limb injuries 
  • Tetanus boosters if needed when you have an injury 
  • urinary tract infections. 

How to access:   

  • No appointment required, walk-ins only  
  • Open 7.30am-10pm, 7 days a week  
  • Locations: Dickson, Belconnen, Weston Creek, Tuggeranong, Gungahlin  
  • No fee. No Medicare card required.

Urgent after-hours care provided by licensed Australian doctors in the home, in community settings and at aged care facilities.  

Common conditions assessed and treated include: 

  • Colds, flu and COVID-19 
  • Skin rashes 
  • Conjunctivitis 
  • Body aches and pains 
  • Gastroenteritis 
  • Headaches/migraines 
  • Infections  

How to access:  

  • Call 13 7425  
  • Open before 8am and after 6pm Monday to Friday, before 8am and from 12pm Saturday, and 24 hours Sundays and public holidays.  
  • Home visits across ACT and Queanbeyan. Telehealth service available.  
  • Bulk-billed, Medicare card required

    • National domestic, family and sexual violence counselling and support service.
  3. Geriatric Rapid Acute Care Evaluation (GRACE) – 0439 216 143
    • Clinical care for residents of residential aged care homes to manage conditions that may otherwise require a hospital presentation.
  4. Maternity Assessment Unit – 02 5124 7444
    • 24/7 access to assessment and monitoring, for people who are greater than 19+6 weeks pregnant, or have issues related to a recent (within the last 14 days) birth.
