Position Description
The role:
We are looking for a casual Registered Nurse to join our Canberra clinic working 0.6 FTE (3 days) across Tuesday to Friday.
Your purpose to provide safe, high-quality client-centred care in our clinics. Working within a team of highly experienced sexual health nurses, you will work together to meet to goals and unique needs of our clients. You will provide education and clinical care as well as assisting in managing plans of care on ongoing support to our clients after discharge.
We are looking for:
- A highly-skilled, passionate, and empathetic nurse able to learn and work across multiple roles.
- Excellent clinical skills and ability to respond to rapidly changing operating admissions, theatre, and recovery environments.
- Experience with women’s health, abortion care, operating theatres, and sexual health provision will be highly regarded.
Your Responsibilities:
- Ensuring high quality and empathetic nursing care to patients are in line with internal policies and procedures and best practice to ensure the best patient experience possible is achieved.
- Supporting the clinical team to provide a high level of client care throughout their journey with us.
- Reflectively engage in continuous improvement and support the achievement of targets relating to client care.
What we need:
- A pro-choice advocate
- Bachelor of Nursing degree or Diploma of Nursing
- Current AHPRA registration
- Previous day surgery and recovery experience
- Willingness to learn all aspects of the client’s journey across admissions, surgery and recovery
- Previous experience in sexual & reproductive health
- Minimum 1 years post-graduation experience in Nursing
- Knowledge of National Accreditation Standards and ACORN standards
- Understand the importance of quality processes
- Willingness to learn with a non-judgmental attitude
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and ability to actively encourage a positive team culture including provision of excellent customer service
- Experience of achieving high standards with a focus on continuous improvement
- Strong initiative and problem-solving skills
What we’d like to see (but aren’t essential):
- Ultrasound scanning skills
- Phlebotomy competency
- CSSD Certificate
- Family Planning Certificate or Midwifery qualification
Employment Requirement:
- AHPRA Registration,
- Provision of two professional referees,
- Be prepared to undergo a National Police Check, prior to commencement,
- Be prepared to undergo an International Vetting Check, prior to commencement,
- Evidence of current COVID-19 vaccinations and declaration of full immunisation history,
- Evidence of current working rights in Australia.
