On 13 March 2022, Services Australia rolled out the new NASH SHA-2 certificate, which replaced the previous version of the NASH certificate. This upgrade was mandatory in order for medical practitioners to continue to use digital health tools, such as, My Health Record, Electronic Prescriptions and Secure Messaging.

CHN collaborated with multiple stakeholders including the Australian Digital Health Agency, The Pharmacy Guild, and the Pharmaceutical Society of Australia to disseminate the necessary information to general practices, pharmacies, and other medical professionals.

The ACT had one of the highest percentages of NASH SHA-2 upgrades (94%) across all PHN areas nationally prior to the 13 March due date.
