Position Description

City Family Practice is looking for a full time VR GP or a part-time VR GP (who would be prepared to share a consultation room), to join our family based medical practice. Our Practice covers all aspects of general medicine, and we are committed to providing high quality patient centred care, where your experience will enhance our supportive and collaborative team.

You will be responsible for:

• Providing skilled health assessment, diagnosis and treatment services to patients across all age groups
• Ordering diagnostic tests as needed, checking and informing patients of results
• Referring patients appropriately to other specialists, as needed
• Managing patients with chronic health conditions and coordinating their care with specialists/allied health providers, as needed
• Documenting all care provided and education/information given to patients within their health record

Practice Description

City Family Practice is a small, accredited GP-owned boutique medical practice established in 1979. We are located in the heart of Canberra on London Circuit with three very happy GPs, two Registered Nurses, and four administration team members.

The philosophy of our practice is to provide our patients with the best possible treatment, using the most up-to-date and proven method, materials, and equipment, emphasizing prevention of disease through a healthy lifestyle, as well as the actual treatment of disease.

This philosophy is best achieved in a working environment where we recognise the patient as being the most important person in the practice where we work in an ethical and responsible manner, demonstrating a mutual respect for each other’s abilities and functions through teamwork.

Our patient demographic is diverse, and we pride ourselves on providing healthcare that considers and respects patients’ rights, identity, body diversity, beliefs, and religious/cultural backgrounds.

We are open Monday to Thursday (8:30am – 5:00pm), and Fridays (8:30 – 3:00pm).

We are fully computerised using Best Practice Software and HotDoc for online appointment bookings and requests.

Parking is available close by with a parking permit supplied after the position is accepted.
