Position Description

Yarralumla Surgery is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our busy, well-established family medical practice on a casual basis. The role is for 3–4 sessions per week, with flexibility to provide additional cover during staff leave.

About the Role

You will deliver high-quality nursing care to patients of all ages, including:

• Immunisations and cold chain management
• Health assessments (45–49, 75+)
• Chronic disease management and recalls
• Wound care and post-procedure checks
• ECGs, iron infusions, ear syringing and INRs
• Assisting with minor procedures (e.g. skin cancer excisions, Implanon insertions/removals)
• Treatment room duties, sterilisation, stock management and infection control
• Triage, documentation and use of electronic medical records
• Maintaining practice accreditation standards and emergency equipment checks

About You

This position is ideal for a motivated, compassionate nurse who enjoys working autonomously while contributing to a supportive multidisciplinary team.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Current unrestricted AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
• Minimum 4+ years’ nursing experience
• Experience in general practice or primary care highly regarded but not essential
• Current CPR certificate and strong knowledge of immunisation schedules
• Proven experience in chronic disease management and health assessments
• Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills
• Proficiency with electronic medical record systems
• A high standard of professionalism, confidentiality and infection control
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

About the Practice

Yarralumla Surgery operates Monday to Friday, 8:00am–5:30pm, with morning and afternoon sessions across seven consulting rooms and a dedicated treatment room. Our practice is committed to genuine care, clinical excellence and continuous improvement.
