Presented by Capital Health Network in collaboration with ACT and NSW Cardiologists
Capital Health Network, together with leading cardiologists from the ACT and NSW, invites General Practitioners and primary care professionals to attend a five-part webinar series focused on the fundamentals of cardiology in general practice.
This engaging series, titled “Builders, Electricians and Plumbers”, will explore practical, evidence-based approaches to managing common and complex cardiovascular conditions in primary care settings.

Veterans carry a significantly higher burden of chronic and complex health conditions compared to the general population. The Department of Veterans’ Affairs Coordinated Veterans’ Care (CVC) Program is designed to assist GPs and primary care teams in providing proactive, coordinated care for eligible veterans with chronic health needs.
Capital Health Network, in partnership with local GP Dr James Manley, invites all primary care professionals to attend this one-off webinar focused on the practical and financial application of the CVC Program in general practice.
This session will cover:
- A practical guide to enrolling and managing patients under the CVC Program
- Tips from an experienced provider on delivering the program efficiently and sustainably
- The value of care coordination in improving outcomes for veteran patients

Join Capital Health Network and Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Dr. Omar Adham for an informative webinar focusing on pelvic organ prolapse. Globally, more than 40% of women experience prolapse of the bowel, bladder, or uterus into the vagina.
This webinar will explore the etiology of the condition, provide lifestyle advice to prevent deterioration, and discuss active interventions such as pelvic floor physiotherapy, pessaries, surgery, and other treatment modalities for prolapse.

Primary health care professionals, including allied health professionals, play an important role in prevention, early identification and responding to disclosures of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA).
Capital Health Network (CHN) and Canberra Rape Crisis Centre (CRCC) invite allied health professionals to attend our Trauma-informed Primary Care Response to Child Sexual Abuse training, developed as part of the Supporting Primary Care Sector Response to Family, Domestic, Sexual Violence, and Child Sexual Abuse (FDSV) Program, funded by CHN.
The program aims to support primary health care professionals in recognising and responding to early signs of FDSV by offering free, tailored and trauma-informed training and resources. Central to this initiative are Link Workers, embedded within specialist organisations such as CRCC, who play a pivotal role in facilitating the coordination of referrals, improving integration between primary care and the FDSV sector, and enhancing service navigation for victim-survivors.

Learning Outcomes
- Outline the biopsychosocial impacts of CSA on victim-survivors.
- Describe the role of allied health professionals in reducing harm.
- Identify the common presentations of CSA and demonstrate understanding of its health impacts.
- Develop confidence in responding to CSA disclosures, meeting legal obligations and reducing re-traumatisation risk.
- Identify appropriate referral pathways and specialist services available within the ACT to provide comprehensive care to victim-survivors of CSA.
In this free training event, CRCC’s Child Sexual Abuse Link Worker, Zara Trinity and CHN’s Family Safety GP Advisor, Dr Anita Hutchison will discuss the prevalence and health impacts of CSA in Australia and provide key strategies to recognise and respond to CSA disclosures in an allied health setting.

Dizziness is a common and distressing condition in primary care. A systematic approach to the condition can differentiate between causes and guide interventions and potential investigations and referral pathways. Matt Croger (physiotherapist) together with Capital Health Network invite health care practitioners to a webinar which explores common causes of dizziness including cervicogenic dizziness, post-concussion syndrome and benign positional vertigo. The webinar will also touch on rarer aetiologies such as Meniere’s disease, and CNS lesions.

Primary health care professionals, including allied health professionals, play an important role in prevention, early identification and responding to disclosures of Domestic and Family Violence (DFV).
Capital Health Network (CHN) – ACT’s Primary Health Network (PHN) and Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) invite allied health professionals to attend our Trauma-informed Primary Care Response to Domestic and Family Violence training, developed as part of the Supporting Primary Care Sector Response to Family, Domestic, Sexual Violence, and Child Sexual Abuse (FDSV) Program. In this free training event, DVCS’s DFV Link Coordinator, Liz Pallas, DFV Link Worker, Nikki Armstrong, and CHN’s Family Safety GP Advisor, Dr Anita Hutchison will discuss the prevalence and health impacts of DFV in Australia and provide key strategies to recognise and respond to DFV disclosures in an allied health setting.
Learning outcomes
- Identify the nature of Domestic and Family violence (DFV), the role of coercive control in DFV, and understand the health impacts of DFV as a significant medical condition.
- Describe the role of allied health professionals in contributing to the prevention and response of DFV.
- Develop the communication skills needed to encourage and respond to disclosures of DFV safely and effectively.
- Identify key risk factors for DFV.
- Identify appropriate referral points and specialist services to provide support to people who have experienced DFV.
