About the role

The Finance Officer will provide high quality, timely and accurate finance support to the Finance Manager and wider CHN teams. You will play a key role across day-to-day and strategic finance activities. You will oversee core accounting functions and maintain accurate financial reports, both routine and custom, to provide the insights needed for strong operational and strategic decisions. You will be closely involved in our budgeting and auditing processes, working under the general guidance of the Finance Manager to help ensure compliance with internal policies, relevant legislations and standards.


About the team

You will join the Finance and Procurement Team that sits within the broader Corporate Services Unit (CSU). CSU serves as a central point of expertise and support for the organisation, bringing together a range of key operational as well as professional services including Office Coordination, Communications, Human Resources, IT, Risk and Quality, and Executive Support.

A successful candidate will combine demonstrated experience in financial management with strong technical skills in using tools, such as Excel and Xero, to accurately manage and analyse financial data. You will bring your attention to detail and ability to prioritise to make meaningful contributions to the team’s decision-making, turning results into clear financial reports and presentations.

You enjoy the challenge of working through complex problems by being curious, proactive and collaborative. In this newly established role, you will actively contribute to business and process improvement activities that strengthen our financial operations, enhance efficiency and facilitate the growth of CHN teams.


Work location

This position is based in our newly renovated and modern office, located in the heart of the Belconnen town centre. We support flexibility and a hybrid work model at CHN and are happy to work with the successful candidate to ensure a balance between work and life.
