If your answer is yes, then the FDSV Training and Link Worker Support Program is for you.
Capital Health Network has funded and partnered with ACT’s specialist FDSV services (Domestic Violence Crisis Service and Canberra Rape Crisis Centre) to deliver this program in the ACT region.
What is the FDSV Training and Link Worker Support Program?
Specifically designed for primary health care professionals, the ‘FDSV Training and Link Worker Support Program’ aims to empower general practices, dental practices and allied health practices to foster an environment where patients experiencing FDSV feel heard, believed, and supported throughout their care journey. It aims to support primary health care professionals become part of a multidisciplinary and integrated response to addressing family, domestic and sexual violence, and child sexual abuse.
The program has been developed in collaboration with FDSV specialists, general practitioners, key stakeholders, and people with lived and clinical experience informing the training development and program activities.
The program offers a range of free and accredited training opportunities for the whole-of-practice and includes the provision of ongoing advice, debriefing, and referral support from Link Workers, embedded within specialist FDSV services.
Practice benefits
- One-off financial incentive payment of $5000 (ex GST) to offset staff time associated with undertaking training and support activities.
- Support in the form of FDSV Link Workers designed to serve as a one-stop referral and advice point for practice staff.
- Tailored whole-of-practice training to enhance confidence, skills, and readiness to recognise and respond sensitively to disclosures.
- Better understanding of mandatory reporting requirements and legal responsibilities when supporting patients experiencing FDSV.
Who can apply?
This opportunity is open to general practices, dental practices, and allied health practices in the ACT region, including Aboriginal Community Controlled Medical Services.
