About Us

Capital Health Network (CHN) is one of 31 Primary Health Networks (PHN). PHNs are independent not-for-profit organisations working to streamline health services, particularly for those at-risk of poor health outcomes, and to better coordinate care so people receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. To achieve these outcomes, CHN undertakes a range of activities including commissioning services to deliver innovative, evidence-informed, primary health care services to the ACT community. Find out more about the role of PHNs.

About the team

The Commissioned Services Team works with service providers and other stakeholders, such as the Department of Health and Aged Care, to commission health services in the ACT. The team monitors progress of commissioned services outcomes to ensure the service is reaching the target population and that service level KPIs are met. The team contributes to key reporting and evaluation activities to identify key primary health care gaps and contributes to future funding opportunities.

About the role

The Senior Manager Commissioned Services is a strategic leadership position committed to delivering high quality, outcome-focused, primary health care services through commissioning activities. The position leads the full commissioning cycle at CHN which includes community health needs assessments, annual planning activities, designing and contracting services, managing performance, evaluation, and quality improvement and capacity building initiatives to contribute to transforming and reorganising existing services to enhance performance and better meet the health needs of Canberrans.

The successful candidate will provide leadership, strategic support and management to the Commissioned Services Team and contribute to a well-established and strong senior leadership team.

See yourself in our team

To effectively support CHN’s goals and objectives in commissioning, you will lead a high-performing and committed team by providing clear direction, overseeing team-level planning and budgeting, while actively contributing to CHN-wide operational and functional strategies. You will use your strong relationship management skills to engage with CHN internal teams at all stages of the commissioning cycle, and externally with government partners, primary health care providers and community organisations.

You will have the opportunity to position yourself at the heart of meaningful, impactful change and establish and operationalize commissioning processes to drive system change towards more integrated, innovative and value-based health care in the ACT.

This position will suit a person who has experience leading a business function in a not-for-profit, Government or corporate services organisation, with a strong understanding of stakeholder relationships management, service delivery, performance and evaluation principles, and strong experience collaboratively managing high level operational and strategic processes.
