Supporting the primary care workforce is one of the nine key priority areas for CHN. CHN provided education, information, resources and networking opportunities to primary health care professionals to support them to deliver safe, high quality and effective health care. We also continued to fund the successful Pharmacists in General Practice Program in 8 general practices.

CHN recognise general practice is faced with increasing challenges relating to system changes, funding constraints, increase in chronic disease management (CDM), practice workforce challenges and COVID-19, just to name a few.

Support of general practice is a core focus of CHN. This support became even more valuable with the impact of COVID-19. CHN has provided education, information, advice, support and mentorship to Practice Managers of the ACT’s 97 general practices.
