General practice

The complexity of COVID-19 and its vaccination roll-out required a specialised coordination and communication effort from CHN. Over the last year, the team has:

  • coordinated 86 general practices to begin COVID-19 vaccinations using AstraZeneca vaccines.
  • coordinated the expression of interest process for the Pfizer vaccine roll-out in general practice.
  • coordinated and onboarded 26 practices for Pfizer vaccine roll-out.
  • engaged with GPs by phone, approximately 100 calls per month.

Residential Aged Care Facilities

Supporting Residential Aged Care Facilities (RACFs) during the COVID-19 pandemic was a significant focus for CHN. As RACFs have a high number of vulnerable people, we ensured that we fully supported RACFs to vaccinate their residents by providing them with the latest information to inform their operations.

Communications has often centred around informing RACF managers about the available pathways for vaccinations for their staff ahead of the mandated vaccinated date for Aged Care Workers in mid-September. Through these communications, the team has played a significant role in the coordination and uptake of Aspen’s vaccination clinics and GP-led COVID-19 vaccination outreach in the ACT.
